Lissa, I have type 1 diabetes, and so higher calories or too many carbs (even fruit) mean more insulin needed, which makes me gain weight. It is a slippery slope. My personal goal is to lower my insulin and hopefully have some rejuvenation of the pancreas.

Thanks 4 ur reply, Lissa. Yes, Robbie is a cutie as far as that goes. But, I believe for one he is on a pump which for me is more dependency in my opinion. And, if you really watch some of his videos– he will eat a large quantity let say of mangos and his blood sugar level goes Sky High, than he has to increase his insulin to compensate. I would say fruit is a friend, for type 1's in general with smaller quantities than the average raw vegan eats and possibly combined with appropriate herbs (like the ones Dr. Morse recommends, for example). So, anyhow I guess we all have to experiment on our healing and life journey😙

Good stuff but I just wanted to throw in my thoughts. Cravings and food preference (from everything I have been studying) reside in the brain's hypothalamus. Humans actually need very little food to survive. Inhibition to the PVN or damage to the hypothalamus is what seems responsible for cravings. Chips and other comfort foods are just that…Comfort. Food industries/restaurants know this and that is why most food has a combination of sugar and fat. This combo apparently inhibits stress feedback in the brain. I think we need to get away from the antiquated theory of calories. Raw food people and all people need to start understanding the different parts of the brain and how they regulate hunger, thirst, emotions, libido, temperature, cravings etc. I can say I have had an eating issue many years (started after years of extreme chronic stress, surprise surprise) no amount of fruit can make me full. Fullness is perceived in the brain not so much the stomach.
