Kitty has lots of love for the right person or family – Rockland – Camden – Knox – Courier-Gazette

Our pet pick of the week is Kitty. This very handsome 6-year-old boy came to the shelter with fellow feline Big Kitty, when their owner was displaced. They are both looking for a new home, but need not go together. Kitty is quite the love bug. If you are looking for a constant companion who loves to show his affection by giving lots of head-bumps and kisses, you should come meet him. He is as sweet as can be and definitely wants to be a part of anything you are doing. Kitty is an inside-only cat who is litter-box trained. He is fine around kids, other cats and even a well behaved dog. Sounds like he is the perfect family cat. Are you the perfect family for him? Stop by and find out.

Ever wonder what all those ingredients and percentages mean on your pet’s bag of food? What is crude protein and does it matter? How about chicken by-product meal? Is that what I want to be feeding my pet? Should I be feeding them a raw diet? So many questions. Well, we have some answers. Actually, Heidi Neal of Loyal Biscuit does, and she will be joining us this Sunday, March 11, at 1 p.m. as part of our Winter Talk Series. She will explore how to read labels, what to look for, what to stay away from, and more tips for your pet’s diet. Learn how to help your animals not just survive, but thrive, with proper nutrition!

Spring is just around the corner and we’re starting to see signs of a busy upcoming kitten season with a couple of pregnant moms already at the shelter. We are looking for foster homes to care for pregnant cats and litters of kittens until they are ready for adoption. If you are interested in this highly rewarding and crucial volunteer experience, contact Kelly or Denise at 594-2200. Can’t foster but want to help? We can use donations of milk replacement formula, nursing bottles, kitty litter, toys and kitten chow.
