I asked four American guys about their mental and emotional experiences after they started to eat only fruits and vegetables. What they experienced far overweigthed the health improvements they originally set out to get and especially their mood, mental clarity and compassion improved a lot. All of these improvements came as a surprise to them and today those are some of the biggest reasons why they keep eating a vegan diet.


Louise aka FruityLou is a Danish coach, speaker, author, television journalist and event maker. She used to be really ill herself but got well through a diet and lifestyle change. She has written the two most comprehensive books on natural healing and the 80/10/10 raw food diet published in Scandinavia. On top of that she has also written three e-books in Danish where her first one, the ‘Get started Guide’ has been translated into English – Louise is a certified coach with years of experience helping people improve their health through mental and dietary changes. She is the organizer of the international and longest running 80/10/10 fruit festival in the world – the Fresh Food Festival As a speaker she has spoken on several stages both in Scandinavia and abroad including the Fresh Food Festival of course. Bananiac asks Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, author of “Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease” what his thoughts are of raw fruit and vegetable diets in terms of treatment of heart disease.

Dr. Esselstyn makes it clear that although many diets seem to be getting popular in our society, many of them lack the peer-reviewed published scientific evidence to back up their claims. His thoughts on raw food diets is that they lack in high calorically dense foods such as potatoes and grains, which make it harder to get enough calories on raw food diets. This as a result makes a lot of people eat high fat diets because they do not eat enough calories from fruit, which are low in fat. Eating a high fat diet will NOT treat heart disease and that is Dr. Esselstyn’s biggest concern with raw food diets (and many other diets, as well).
