Raw Food Detox Diet Guide

Because of the rising number of people having health problems and illnesses, the typical market experience the continued rising of raw food as well. Both positive and negative knowledge can be acquired from various books and articles on the Internet. There is a need to look for the point to start with for many individuals so that they are able to alter one part of their lives and solve their own problems. Even though raw food can do wonders in an individual’s life, it cannot serve as the panacea for all illnesses out there. It has different effects on all kinds of individuals, depending on their situations and conditions. There is a need for you to know what you can be expecting when you are under a raw food detoxification diet.

A standard cooked diet involves eating manufactured and processed foods while a balanced vegetarian raw food diet includes high level of raw food. The switch that happens here is one of the most life-giving alterations an individual can create in his or her everyday life. The expression that states “you are what you eat” is true for it has shown its inferences. If you tend to eat manufactured and processed foods most often, then your body will acquire more numbers of saturated fat, de-natured proteins and salt. When these are combined and taken inside the body, the body has to create enzymes and digestive products in order to break them down into smaller pieces so that they can be practical and the wastes are completely removed out of the body. This is also the reason why there is a need of raw food because these foods are the ones that contain the enzymes to break down the foods that we eat into useful pieces needed for the health of the body.

Producing enzymes and other digestive products are really difficult when it comes to the resources of the body. When the body receives food that is rich with these enzymes, then the function to create these enzymes is reduced already and the only thing that the body has to do is divert these foods to energy. Once the energy is made, the body spares the energy to other functions of the body such as destroying illnesses, rejuvenating diseased and dysfunctional organs and body parts.

Moreover, once the body is released from the everyday ingestion of difficult to digest food, it begins to free and let go of harmful substances and wastes that are trapped in the body for long periods of time. The body usually starts with the skin clearing up and shining, and the hair transforming from oily to fly-away to normal and manageable. As for the internal organs, the liver and kidneys, they cleanse themselves automatically by removing the dark eye bags, and skin acne and spots that can be found at the lower back. Even though not all individuals are guaranteed to experience all of this, most people are sure to undergo some of these changes, especially weight loss.

Normally, individuals who are under this body detoxification diet can experience feelings of sickness and breakouts in spots. Individuals who follow this with a highly balanced raw diet can become more energetic, vibrant and healthy afterward.

The final recommendation that you need to know is consider the option that all individuals have psychology adjoining food and the relationship we all have to it. Surely, the procedure of altering our diets can unavoidably lead us up in opposition to our own psychology. Though this is not a negative thing, leaving the diet unplanned can only weaken the raw food detoxification program. You must take an advice from food coaches and specialists that have the knowledge on dealing with these kinds of diet procedures.

Taking in more salads and raw fruits and vegetables is extremely healthy for you. Just by eliminating the manufactured and processed foods in your diet, you can experience the changes that you are looking for in no time. This article wishes you luck in your options and may you pay attention to what your body needs.

The Joy of Raw Food Diet Weight Loss

The raw food diet is rapidly gaining popularity and awareness among knowledgeable health conscious consumers. As we enter the 21st century people are becoming more diet conscious due to an increase in understanding about how the body works. When people pursue raw food diet weight loss and abandon modern processed foods they quickly see a change in the way they feel and an increase in their energy levels. The benefits of turning from soda pop and processed food to more healthy things like uncooked vegetables, seeds, nuts, grains, beans, dried fruit, and even seaweed are bringing millions of people benefits like increased energy, better skin tone and even reduced illnesses.

Raw food diet weight loss revolves around cutting out foods that are not readily processed by the body. By replacing these processed foods with natural foods that are not cooked at excessive temperature many enzymes and nutrients are left intact. Studies have shown that heating food above 115 degrees F can destroy enzymes in food that can assist in the digestion and absorption of food. At least 75% of the diet must be uncooked or raw food in order for the diet to be a true raw food diet. If you are thinking about pursuing raw food diet weight loss you need to make sure that your body’s PH is not moving towards being more acidic than alkaline. An acidic body is a fat body as the metabolism will be slowed down and more inefficient. When an unhealthy diet of processed foods is consumed this will create an acidic condition in the body. To test the body’s acidity you can use PH test strips, these are inexpensive and they can be used to help determine not only your PH but the right diet schedule needed to meet your weight loss goals. By eating an alkaline diet you will find weight loss is more effective. This is the major tip in achieving long term weight loss. Fruits, vegetables and herbs will help assist you in your efforts to maintain a more alkaline body.

Eat Fresh and Organic

Eating organic foods can help as they contain higher nutrient levels. Organic foods have more alkalizing minerals than conventionally grown foods and eating organic will speed up your weight loss efforts. Make sure to buy the highest quality and most delicious food. It may cost more but the great taste and higher quality will ensure that your raw food diet weight loss plans are successful. The lowest calorie count per ounce will be found with raw greens and vegetables. Fruits are next in line. In general, fruits have a slightly higher calorie count because of their naturally occurring sugars which will help with weight loss due to the fact that this will raise the body’s blood sugar and reduce hunger levels. People will often eat a piece of fruit before their meal to reduce over eating. If you eat a piece of sweet fruit like some pineapple or an apple 30 minutes before your main meal this can significantly reduce your hunger cravings so that when you do finally eat you will want to eat less. Raw food diet weight loss is usually successful when a complete lifestyle change is made. This change is typically rewarded with a higher energy level and possibly a reduction in illness.

How To Make Raw Food Salads

Raw food salads are always a hit for those pursuing the raw food diet. Not only are they fast and easy to make, but they are also tasty and filling. There really are no rules on how to make them, as just about anything goes, and everyone will have to experiment what they like best. Most people tend to favor fruit salads over leafy green salads, as well as over garden salads. This is mainly due to their sweetness, but leafy greens and garden salads can be just as tasty.

Fruit Salads

Fruit salads are a great pick-me-up in the afternoon due to their natural sugar content. They are also a hit when served as a dessert, even for those who are not raw foodists, as the fruit is naturally sweet.

To make a fruit salad, all one needs is a variety of different fruits such as grapes, mangoes, pineapple, peaches and pears. These foods, when combined in a salad will be naturally sweet. However, if extra sweetness is desired, one can drizzle over a natural sweetener such as honey, agave nectar or stevia. Spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves also add to the great flavor of fruit salads.

Garden and Leafy Green Salads

Garden salads are another easy salad to make. Just about anything that grows in the garden such as tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, radishes and leafy greens go well in a garden salad.

Leafy green salads might not always be the first item on the list for foods to eat. They are nonetheless, one of the healthiest salads to add into the diet. They offer up many essential nutrients such as calcium, amino acids and natural sodium that the body needs. However, due to the bitterness of many leafy greens, the salads might take some getting used to.

With raw food salads, one cannot use the commercial salad dressings that are available for garden and leafy green salads. Therefore, it is important to learn how to make homemade salad dressings from scratch using fresh fruits, oils, and herbs and spices. It may sound daunting, but really, making a salad dressing at home is quite simple, and can taste just as great, if not better than anything that can be purchased in a bottle.

A common way to make a salad dressing is to start off with the basics such as an oil, lemon juice and sea salt. Then from there, one can add other herbs such as dill, rosemary, thyme, garlic and many others. A mashed avocado and fruit juices such as pineapple, mango or apple juices can also serve as a base for the dressing, thus eliminating the need for the oil.

What Not to Eat on a Raw Food Diet

There are many benefits to eating raw, but doing so needs to be done carefully as well as not all foods are suitable for raw eating. If you are considering a raw foods diet, or are already on one, here are some foods you should certainly avoid or think twice about before eating them raw. This list is not comprehensive, and readers are encouraged to learn more about what to eat – and what not to eat – on a raw food diet if they are new to raw foodism using the resources listed below.

1. Kidney Beans. Even when sprouted, kidney beans should not be eaten raw. This is because they contain a chemical, phytohaemagglutinin, which can be toxic. Poisoning can result from eating as few as five beans, and symptoms will show within three hours and included nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Hospitalization is rarely needed, unless a very large quantity of raw kidney beans has been eaten.

2. Buckwheat Greens. Interestingly, these are toxic primarily to fair skinned individuals. Buckwheat greens contain the chemical component fagopyrin, which can cause extreme photosensitivity and other skin problems in fair skinned individuals.

3. Cassava Flour. Raw cassava flour can be toxic, especially when eaten in large quantities. Tapioca is one common food made from cassava flour, and should always be eaten cooked.

4. Raw Meat. Although some raw food advocates argue that raw meat can be safely incorporated into one’s diet when you know the source is safe, caution should be used as raw meet can contain a variety of different harmful bacteria, parasites and even viruses. It is for this reason that many of those on a raw foods diet eat a primarily raw vegan diet (no animal products).

5. Raw Parsnips. Unfortunately, parsnips are one of the few vegetables that are best eaten cooked. This is because raw parsnips contain furanocoumarin chemical compounds. The juice of raw parsnip plants (especially wild parsnips) can cause allergic skin reactions, and also affect the effectiveness of certain pharmaceutical drugs.

Looking For Nutritious Dog Food Recipes? Nothing Beats A Raw Food Diet For Dogs

The fact that you actually chose to read this article, is proof enough for me that you must be a true dog lover. Who else would spend time researching about nutritious dog food diets than those truly devoted to their best buddies? And, it was wise of you to do some online research on the topic. Most pet owners make the mistaken assumption that their pets have the same nutrient needs as them. However, we have to realize that our pet dogs are actually wild animals that have been domesticated. The best diet for them is their native diet, which is raw meat.

Now, you might think that this will bring on salmonella, e-coli or other types of food poisoning to your dog. Don’t worry, it won’t. Our dogs’ digestive systems are not like ours. We need to cook meat in order to kill bacteria that can wreak havoc on our system. On the other hand, dogs are not susceptible to these kinds of microorganisms. In fact, raw meat might actually be more nutritious for them, especially if you compare it to commercial dog foods, which are laden with preservatives, fillers and chemicals.

Cooked meat loses a lot of its nutrients. This is because cooking breaks down the proteins, vitamins and minerals of meat. It also loses a lot of its moisture content, which would have ideally contributed to meeting your dog’s daily water needs. As a whole, meat should be the primary component of your dog’s food.

Now, if we take a look at commercial dog food, their usual ingredients are mostly soy, corn, and wheat. These ingredients happen to be the most common allergens among dogs. Our dogs’ digestive systems were not designed for processing grains. A high-grain diet among dogs has actually been correlated to pancreatic stress and tooth decay among dogs. Some raw dog food advocates even campaign for the total elimination of grain from our dogs’ diets.

What makes up a dog’s raw food diet, or what they call, biologically appropriate raw food (BARF)? Ideally it is made up of 60-80% raw meat. It can be raw meat from beef, buffalo, venison, chicken, turkey, rabbit and fish. Small animals like rabbit and fish can be fed to them whole. The raw meat component can further be broken down to about 1/5 organs, 1/5 skin and fat, and the rest in muscle meat.

Bones are also nutritious additions to your dog’s diet. But, they must be from animals that were freshly killed for meat. Never feed them old bones from animals that have been long dead and preserved. Good sources of bones would be, for example, freshly killed rabbits or chickens. It is actually safe to feed your dog chicken bones if they are fresh and uncooked. Chicken bones become dangerous to dogs when cooked because cooked bones become brittle and are much more likely to splinter. On the other hand, fresh bones are easier to chew and digest. If you’re doubtful about this information, verify it with a veterinarian.

Some 20-40% of your dog’s diet can come from vegetables. Some vegetables, however, can cause bloating among dogs.

So, if you’re ready to feed your dogs some raw meat, go ahead and ask for left-over animal parts from your butcher! Just remember to take proper food handling precautions, for your sake, as you already know that our systems our much more sensitive than that of our dog’s.

Raw Foods – What Can I Eat on a Raw Food Diet? – Nurse’s Guide

“What can I eat on a raw food diet?” is a question I’m often asked. Being a long time nurse and raw fooder myself who has cured herself of numerous ailments, diseases and conditions, I can give you a good idea of the best foods to eat.

You may be interested in starting a raw food diet because you have health concerns. If so, know that I cured myself many years ago within one month of starting to eat raw foods of breast cancer, fibromyalgia, arthritis, acid reflux, GERD and digestive issues, recurrent heartburn, headaches, diarrhea, constipation, TMJ that goes along with fibromyalgia, sleeping problems – waking up for two hours in the middle of the night and many others.

Maybe you’re already healthy and just want to make sure you stay that way. A raw food diet will be insurance for you as well.

Before I started on raw foods I had never heard the term “raw foods,” so it was all new to me. I learned fast however and it was really quite simple. A raw food diet can be anything you want it to be if you stick with plant foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Of course you don’t have to eat 100% raw foods to get the many health benefits of a vegan raw food diet.

If your focus is on an 80% raw food diet especially – to begin with that may be a good idea, unless you have some very serious health concerns. Then you may want to take a different approach – as many raw foods or living foods as they are also called, in your diet as you can handle. Of course you’ll want to check with your doctor on any diet changes you make and especially if you have any serious illnesses, diabetes, heart problems or you’re on any medications. Clear it with your doctor first.

My best suggestion is that you try to add a lot more fruit to your breakfast menu. You may know that the national Food Guide Pyramid recommends about nine fruits and vegetables a day. This means two to four servings of fruits and at least three to five servings of vegetables every day. I don’t think that is enough. I eat a lot more than that in one day.

Raw foods have few calories and people lose weight fast when going on a raw food diet. It’s not meant to be a temporary fix but a lifetime commitment to superior health. That’s what I enjoy and have from the first month I made a change from the standard American diet, many years ago.

For lunch and dinner you can have fruits, veggies, huge salads and sunflower seed pates, roll-ups, raw vegan entrees and raw desserts such as live fudge, blueberry pie, lemon torte, live apple pie, raw fudge and hundreds of other choices. You can make crackers easily, smoothies, fresh green and carrot juices and lots of appetizers. There are many recipes you can make and easy raw recipe books that you can help you get a good start too. Raw food recipes are usually fast and simple.

The important thing is to do something. Get started on a raw food diet and see the pounds melt away, this without buying expensive diet programs or diet plans or investing in expensive supplements. I lost ten pounds fast and it shocked me. If you don’t need to lose weight, that is only one of hundreds of benefits of eating a raw food diet. Raw foods are loaded with nutrients, phytonutrients, fiber, vitamins, minerals and trace minerals and all in their natural state. Get started on the road to superior health today! Now you may have a better idea of “What I can eat on a raw food diet!” Get started today and enjoy superior health like I do!

How to Sharpen Mental Clarity With a Raw Food Diet

Eating raw food offers a number of unexpected improvements to your quality of life. For one thing, energy levels are increased dramatically with the raw food diet. For another, raw foodists report noticeably sharpened mental clarity starting about 1 week into the diet. In this article, we’ll cover three ways that raw food can improve your cognitive function.

1. Removing toxins from your diet

When you cook your food, you introduce toxins into your diet. These toxins take a number of different chemical forms, the most common of which are called advanced glycation end products (AGEs). When food is browned on a grill or in a toaster, a chemical reaction takes place binding sugars and proteins together to create these toxins. When these materials get stuck in your system, they produce an inflammatory response. Consumption of these materials has been associated with aging of the skin, brain, and internal organs, along with associated diseases like diabetes and Alzheimer’s. By eating raw food, you eliminate intake of these items from your diet. Mental clarity is increased because your body has lower levels of systemic inflammation. You can think of it as the difference between having a headache and taking an aspirin to make it go away so you can concentrate. Energy levels are also increased because of the diminished load on your liver.

2. Removing unwanted hormones

This point applies to vegans as well. When you eat meat, you are typically consuming food from female or castrated male animals. When you eat dairy, you are eating something that came out of a pregnant or lactating cow. Even if you are eating fully organic, hormone-free meats and dairy, at baseline you are still tilting your balance toward higher levels of estrogen consumption. Vegans and raw foodists often report increased feelings of relaxation, peace, and ease when these influences are removed from the diet. Impulsive and irrational behavior becomes less common. Menstrual cycles also take on much greater regularity.

3. Increasing depth of sleep

When you eat meat for dinner and go to bed a couple of hours later, your body is still processing a huge load of animal protein. For instance, when you eat a big steak dinner and then feel like falling asleep, your body is mobilizing blood flow to the stomach in order to manage the digestive workload. When you eat raw food, your body is managing materials that are much more easily digested. You are also getting a much higher intake of fiber, which speeds digestion along. As a result, sleep cycles can deepen substantially. When I eat raw food, I enjoy a greatly increased restfulness of sleep, and I am much more likely to remember dreams on waking up. Because memory and mental clarity is largely formed during deep sleep cycles, stringing together night after night of clear sleeping can strongly improve your focus.

Let’s summarize: when you eat raw foods, you take a huge load off of your system. This energy you once used for processing toxins or acting out the anxieties and urges of animal proteins can now be reclaimed and used for higher levels of productivity.
